Setting reservation preferences

Reservation Settings is where you customize how guests reserve your property. You can set the payment method that you require guest to use while making reservations. You can also set booking requirements, such as advance booking time and minimum room nights per reservation.

Setting reservation payment method

Select the payment method you require guest to use. Guest can see the payment method on the reservation checkout page.

Full lump sum payment in advance

Select this payment method if you require guest to pay 100% of reservation fee at the time of booking. While submitting booking request, guest has to make full payment using integrated third party payments such as PayPal or Stripe or your customized payment instruction.

Tip:

The amount of the payment is authorized (put on temporary hold on the guest’s payment source) when the booking request is submitted, and it will be captured if you accept the booking request, or the authorization will be released if you decline the booking request.

Advanced Payment Plan

Some rental properties get guests booking months and months in advance. Select this payment method if you want to allow guests to make two or three payments over time to payoff the balance.

Two Payment Plan

For example, you give your guests a two payment plan:

  • For advanced reservations ( 30 days out), take a 20% of total reservation fee
  • At 30 days before check in or if booking is < 30 days, guests have to pay balance in full payment

Three Payment Plan

For example, you give your guests a three payment plan:

  • For advanced reservations ( 90 days out), take a $300 deposit.
  • At 90 days before check in or if booking is < 90 days but > 30 days, take half of balance or half of the remainder balance
  • At 30 days before check in or if booking is < 30 days, guests have to pay balance in full payment

Pay on arrival

This payment method allows guests to pay on arrival at the rental property rather than upfront. Guests will not be required to pay when they submit booking request on your booking sales funnel.

Tip:

For two or three payment plans, guest will be able to pay online through Stripe or PayPal for the first payment.
For the rest of the payments, you can send reminder email with Linkedbooking payment links from the reservation detail page.

Setting booking requirements

You can set the following requirements for reservations.

How long can guests stay

Set minimum and maximum night requirements for reservations. Saved settings will be reflected on your booking calendar.

For example, You set Nights min 3 nights (minimum 3 nights ). When guest select one night on your booking calendar, a “3-night minimum” note will pop up and Continue button will be greyed out. Guests have to select at least 3 nights to continue booking.

Minimum advance booking days

You can set how many days in advance do you require guests to book.

For example: You set Minimum advance booking time as 10 Days. (Require guests to book at least 10 days in advance)

When guests open your booking calendar on Aug 16, 10 days ( Aug 16 to Aug 25 ) are blocked and not bookable, guests can book days starting from Aug 26.

Maximum advance booking days

You can set how far ahead can your guest book using this setting. This prevents guests from booking too far in advance. The default setting is 365 days, but you can reduce it to restrict how far in advance guests can make a booking.

For example: If you set Maximum advance booking days as 60 Days (Guests cannot book reservations more than 60 days in advance) , the dates after 60 days from today (the 61th day and beyond) are not bookable.

Preparation time between bookings

If you want preparation time between reservations for cleaning, you can set the cleaning days here. Cleanings days are blocked on your Calendar in Admin and are not bookable on your online booking funnel.

For example, You set 2 nights for cleaning and a reservation for Aug 20 - Aug 22 has been confirmed , Aug 23 and Aug 24 are blocked on your calendar for cleaning. These two dates are not bookable on your online booking funnel.

Require Guest list

You can require guests to provide their name and/or birthday when they submit booking requests.

For example, If you require guests to provide their names, you can mark check the checkbox : “Name of all Guests”

You online booking funnel will display the following message to your guests.
